Things are more than they appear

Hello,

This blog has no purpose, its just me rambling.

I was thinking last night and this morning how much of the story we miss. I am not really referring to a particular situation, but just in general. We see what we want to see, we hear what we want to hear and we tend to ignore the rest of whatever went on, whether we do it consciously or subconciously.

In sports there is a whole lot more that goes on behind the scenes than gets caught by the refs. A player can pinch, trip and elbow-jab his opponent to his hearts content while the ref is looking the other way, but the only thing the on-lookers see is the opponent getting more and more upset for what appears to be no reason at all. When the opponent finally loses it and checks the guy in a way that the ref can't help but card him, the audience boos and hisses at the display of poor sportsmanship and cheers when he gets kicked off the field. The opponent gets thrown out and has to sit dejectedly on the side lines fuming over the unfairness of the whole situation.
After the game he sounds like a pussy for whining about being pinched and prodded by the opposite team so he keeps it to himself and everyone assumes he is just a poor sport... and he gets comments from the peanut gallery like "cool it." "it's just a game" "hot head, you lost us the game..." etc...
Poor guy... I wish everyone had an opportunity to present their side of the story in a unbiased setting...

That's funny you mentioned pinching. I would do that all the time in basketball. I would also make comments to annoy girls and get them "out of their game." One girl pushed me so hard I fell. I fell to make it a little dramatic and she got a technical. Her hair was perfectly done for the game and I asked her if their prom was that night and she pushed me again fouling out. I was imfamous for being the sneaky one and then they would lash out. Fun times!

I'll be honest, i'm not sure i completely understand what you're trying to say in this blog, it's WAY over my head! Ha ha but just so you know, if i ever played any sports game with you i would never ever pinch or push or pull your hair! I love u!

I've thought that before, too. I kinda get where you're coming from.
When i was running in HS, there really weren't any refs, not for CC, so some dirty things happened on the course once in a while.
Stupid pricks.
